Champion Mindset Competition Series Finale

Great work to the ladies that completed the Helen Challenge. Competition is just the carrot you sometimes need to get into your mental game! The ladies worked on Visualization, Changing false beliefs, practicing proper technique after watching video of themselves do the movement, setting goals and creating a game plan. We are learning that it takes a combination of all these to make for a well improved time!

17 women showed back up to complete the Helen workout and 13 showed an improved time of 2 to 120 sec of time off their last performance! Great work ladies! We had 12 minutes to complete the WOD! Those that know Helen is no joke of a workout!

Ladies great work and next up Grace!

Freaky Friday, March!

Ladies the fact that we have a gift to see awesomeness and want to share it is just beyond the scope of a mans right mind. Left to our brilliance we can get it done and still have some time to get freaky! This Friday get some lace on you somewhere and have some fun! Most of you are going to be sore from the 12.2 snatch WOD. Putting on some black lace will help you forget about those strong sexy traps that are going to be hurting when you laugh!

Oh, and kill the WOD!

Baby Got Back

A beautiful back. Today may not be spring like but we know that spring is just around the corner. Under all these winter layers be sure that it is clothes that will reveal those beautiful muscles you have been working on. What can you do to reveal that back and be pumped about the back less dress, sundress, or swimsuit. Lots to do.

The best advice - do it all and be consistent. By do it all, that means you have to be on the eating regime as well as the workout regime and be consistent over time = rock star back.

Check out CrossFit Central's Nutrition Lecture:
When: Tuesday February 14th
Time: 12pm or 7pm

For a course in food, accountability, and a great program to get you off the crap, check out Crystal Nelsons Fuel21

The key is to choose to do it and to be consistent! For the workout, show up to class 3 days a week and add two additional workouts a week, minimum! If you are on a 2 day a week program and you are looking to get results fast... you are lying to yourself if you think that is all you need to do for workout. Even if they are short workouts that can be done in 30 min...move that body! Commit and GO! Let us know how we can help! Join out program if you haven't already or come back if you have been on a break! We have lots to offer!!! Cheers to backs!

Change your Physiology

Life comes at you fast. You have two options, you get to choose to be or you get to choose to not be. That is it. Your choice.

One thing that gets many of us is the running list in our heads that we must get done yesterday. We let that list just keep running through our heads. We can only manage 7 things up there and most of you try to manage 14! Therefore, a few get forgotten, and usually a couple are on the top priority list!

Many of us know the famous Tony Robbins. He delivers a powerful message about changing your state. What does that mean? One way is changing the physiology of the body in a moment of panic, stress, indecision, joy, happiness, and pure energy to meet the needs or outcome that you want to occur for you.

In this video he speaks about how powerful it can be for you to be aware of how you are being and more aware to understand how you can take control over your mind by changing your physiology.

Each of us has had a moment where we get to choose how we will respond to a situation. Today, when you are in a moment of choice check in with your state and you choose how you will respond, who you will be, and all ending in the result you want.

Change your state!

How was your SWEAT session?

There is nothing like a good sweat! And if you think of every drop being fat leaving the body, wouldn't you want to sweat just a little more. Lets think of it that way. The challenge is to start sweating sooner and longer every time you go to your WOD.

What will you do to make that happen? Wear an extra layer, move your feet a little faster, pump your arms a little harder, pick up a little more weight, run fast, faster, fastest?

Sweating
is very cleansing for your body. Various cultures throughout time have embraced this fact as demonstrated by the prevalent uses of sweat lodges, bath houses and steam rooms in numerous traditions. When you sweat, your body undergoes a series of processes that allow for the release of toxins and an increase in metabolism.

What Is Sweat?

Sweat is made up mostly of water but also contains minerals, urea, lactic acid, ammonia and sugar. Sweating is your bodies way of regulating its temperature. When you run long distances or exercise in hot weather, for example, your muscles exert themselves and your body overheats. Sweating is your body’s way of bringing your temperature back to normal.

The Benefits of Sweating

When you sweat, you breathe faster, your heart works more, your circulation improves and your metabolism accelerates, all in an effort to resume your normal body temperature. Because your circulation is increased during sweating, many of the toxins and impurities are able to exit your body by way of your open skin pores. This is a good reason to exercise to the point of sweating or to sit in a steam room regularly.

Your skin also benefits from sweating. Your skin pores open and any dirt or impurities on the surface layers of the skin have a chance to exit. Sweating regularly, if followed by proper cleansing, will help you to achieve softer and smoother skin.

It is believed that the immune system also benefits from sweating. When your body heats up, your body generates more white blood cells. This strengthens your immune system.

Sweating for Weight Loss

Sweating has been discussed heavily as a tool for weight loss. The weight that you lose through sweating is water weight. This weight is quickly replaced when you replenish your fluids. However, activities that lead to sweating often burn up calories. Sitting in a sauna uses up energy as your body tries to restore your normal temperature. If you are sweating because you have been exercising, you have been burning calories.

So, sweating as part of a weight loss program means that your body is eliminating toxins and burning up calories. Just be sure to make sweating a part of a larger program of balanced nutrition and exercise for a maximum effect.

Sweating for Stress Relief

Sweating can also be very relaxing for both your body and your mind. When you sweat, your body’s muscles are warmed up by humidity and heat. This helps to release the stress and fatigue brought on by muscle tension.

SO SWEAT! Sweating is healthy and cleansing. It helps your body get rid of toxins. It cleanses your skin. Sweating gets your circulation going and increases cardiovascular activity. It increases your metabolism, leading to calorie burning. It boosts your immune system. Sweating is also an effective stress reliever.
